Usually, you can find your modem’s name (SSID) and password (KEY or PASSPHRASE) on a sticker that’s on the bottom or side of your device. If your device doesn’t have a sticker (or you can’t read it), then you need to do a tiny bit of sleuthing to find it.
Wireless settings on most CenturyLink modems
For most CenturyLink modems, you can find what you need in 3 steps:
- Using a device (wired or wireless) that has an Internet connection, open a web browser.
- In the address bar type http://192.168.0.1 and then hit Enter.
- Select Wireless Setup. You are now in the modem’s admin console and can access the configuration screen. The Network Name/SSID and Security Key/Passphrase should be listed on the screen. It might look something like these examples – although it will vary based on your specific modem.
